The Elakah Experience are sea kayak guides and instructors based in north Washington not too far south of vancouver on the west coast. What set’s them apart however is that the lead instructor, and owner of the operation, Mike Passo, is a paraplegic following a mountain bike accident.

They offer all kinds of trips, from 1/2 day introductions and guided tours to 5 day expeditions around the beautiful San Juan Islands, camping out in remote area’s, all with gourmet food provided and catering for any ability.

If you are looking to get into sea kayaking then there cant be many better places in the world to learn, and the fact that instruction comes from a guy in a wheelchair means that you have no excuse to say you couldnt manage it.
